This Merlot alludes to an old-world style, showing fruit, but reigning it in with ample earthy and savory notes and a solid acidic structure. On the nose are aromas of ripe plum and blueberries with prominent notes of cedar, tobacco and a hint of black peppercorn. On the palate, flavors of black cherry and plum skin are balanced with earthy notes of cocoa, violet, dried herbs and a touch of clay pot minerality before a dry finish with a lingering bright acidity.
